Welcome to PrairieMod. This site represents a chance for us to expose the world to the newest ideas in a movement we like to refer to as Prairie/Modern (aka PrairieMod). It's the 21st century re-examination into the ideas and ideals of the Praire School and the Arts and Crafts Movement (with a little Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Bauhaus thrown in for zest). We'll be posting our thoughts and explorations in conjunction with book reviews, merchandise finds and anything else that catches our fancy. Expect to see a fair amount devoted to the works of Frank Lloyd Wright and other Prairie School artists and architects. Feel free to post your feedback and let us know what you think!

Please provide a Contact Us link so we (other FLW fans) can communicate with you and share interesting information for your site.

I have a question...
I have been lurking and watching the website of Chicago Bauhaus Studios & Academy for about 8 years now. It was my (and my brother's) plan to eventually take classes there. He procrastinated due to being busy, I procrastinated due to budgetary contraints. Today 2/13/07, he decided to take the plunge. However, sadly, when I went to the website, I saw the awful news that the Founder and President Berthold Schwaiger and passed away unexpectedly and all future programs are currently suspended. To this very sad note, (what a loss of talent!) Do you know of anyone, maybe alumnus, etc who may beholding the same type of classes?
