We found a little more info on some of the events that are being scheduled for the Louis Sullivan 150th Celebration this fall. The Chicago Architecture Foundation will be having a series of lectures and tours to explore the impact that Louis Sullivan had on Chicago, architecture and ultimately Modernism. They will include discussions on Sullivan's use of ornamentation, his botanical influences and the challenges in preserving and restoring his works. There will also be tours of the famous Sullivan sites including the Chicago Auditorium, related historic skyscrapers, and the Carson Pirie Scott store (we thought we'd include a few photos at the top to get you excited.)
As we continue to get more information on the upcoming Louis Sullivan 150th Celebration we'll pass it along to our readers. Stay tuned!
