It seems the spirit of the Arts and Crafts Movement is alive and well in Canada. Vest Collective is a group of artisans and designers based in Toronto. According to their website:
Work produced under the Vest moniker adheres to the principle that objects can affect positive change on the people and other objects with which they come in contact. Equal emphasis is put on the quality/longevity of the work produced, and its relevance to contemporary culture. With an appreciation for different disciplines, Vest produces work demonstrating that design is full of the potential to communicate a wide range of ideas.
You can see why this group and their ideas are right up PrairieMod's alley. Check out their on-line gallery for a sampling of the different items that they have created. The Acorn Lounge pictured above is an especially nice marriage of traditional William Morris Arts and Crafts imagery with a modern twist. We look forward to more interesting items from our friends to the north.
