Some of us attended the Prairie Skyscraper lecture and exhibit at the Chicago Architecture Foundation this evening and it was a huge success! Dr. Alofsin had a fascinating presentation.

While we were there, we heard that another lecture is coming up on Thursday, March 22nd at 6pm that you may not want to miss....

Frank Lloyd Wright: Designing an American Way of Living presented by Virginia Terry Boyd, Professor of Design Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also curator of The House Beautiful Exhibit currently traveling the country.

Here is a a rundown of the lecture: Frank Lloyd Wright believed that American houses should be designed for a uniquely American way of living. He began pursuing this idea at the turn of the twentieth century and continued throughout his long career. From the Prairie style to Usonian houses, this lecture will explore the new spatial arrangements, modern aesthetics and affordability Wright introduced to American architecture.
