Santiago Calatrava is back in Chicago! Edward Lifson, new modernist and host of Chicago Public Radio's "Hello Beautiful," posted a great article on the presentation of Calatrava's revised twisting skyscraper that is being proposed for the lake front. It's especially interesting to note the mention of the Chicago Spire being green with it's design, utilizing human scale, and the integration of extensive landscaping around the base of it. Also interesting is the idea of Calatrava taking in the Frank Lloyd Wright "Prairie Skyscraper" exhibit located at the Chicago Architecture Foundation where his presentation took place. Check out the article and cross your fingers that we get a chance to see this building become a welcome addition to Chicago's amazing skyline!
