We wanted to remind our readers that the September 2007 Dwell on Design conference is quickly approaching. The event takes place in San Francisco on September 14 — September 16. As stated on the Dwell website:
This year’s Dwell on Design Conference will highlight the ingenuity and commitment of people who are building community on a number of fronts, each with an emphasis on modern design, sustainability and smart growth. Speakers and panelists will offer their stories and in-depth knowledge of projects that range from single-family dwellings to multi-family, multi-generational housing to large-scale initiatives in urban planning and community development.
The list of speakers include Craig W. Hartman, FAIA – Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; Alice Waters – Chez Panisse, The Edible Schoolyard; Michael McDonough – Award-winning Architect and Industrial Designer; Gwendolyn Wright – Historian and Professor at Columbia University specializing in American Architectural and Urban History; Lorcan O'Herlihy – Award-winning Architect; Kathryn McCamant – Architect, Co-author of Cohousing: A Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves; and Jennifer Roberts – Author of (3) acclaimed books on green homes: Good Green Kitchens, Redux and Good Green Homes.
All in all, it should be a great event. Follow this link to register and to find out more information.
