I stumbled across a very interesting website the other day and thought I'd share. Urban Remains Chicago is practically in the PrairieMod Squad's backyard, but we didn't know about them until now. As described on their site:
"Located in the "salvage loop" of Chicago, Urban Remains deals
exclusively in the reclamation and recycling of American antique
architectural artifacts found among commercial and industrial buildings
or residential structures. Our collection of recovered artifacts dates
between the mid-19th century and the late 1930's."
A quick search through their site reveals several several choice artifacts for sale designed by the likes of Louis Sullivan, George Elmslie and even Frank Lloyd Wright. There are also several cool items, reclaimed and for sale just waiting to be discovered. I especially like the wide variety of beautiful reclaimed and salvaged art glass windows for sale. Check it out for yourself--who knows, that finishing touch for your bungalow might be there, waiting for you!
