Members of the PrairieMod Squad continued their travels in the San Francisco Bay area today, on their way to Sonoma County. Since it was a road-trip day, I thought I'd post a few more photos from our visit to the de Young Museum of Art at Golden Gate Park.
Amongst the African sculptures and 18th century landscape paintings was a small collection of Arts & Crafts Era treasures--including this absolutely stunning Grueby vase.
There was also an little piece of home in one of the display cases: An original baluster from the Louis Sullivan designed Carson Pirie Scott building in Chicago.
Finally, here's a shot of the ultimate Arts & Crafts trifecta: A Frank Lloyd Wright designed barrel chair, a L&JG Stickley buffet and a Dirk van Erp mica lamp. Perfection!
If you get a chance to visit the de Young, make sure you check out these and the other treasures that await! Enjoy!
