I received a comment on my previous Break::the::Box post concerning the 2008 line-up of lectures, since the link provided was to the 2007 lecture list. I checked the link fearing I had made an error, but the 2008 list hasn't been posted on the UTRF website as of yet. So, without further ado here is the tentative event schedule based on the flyer handed out at the Philip Allsopp keynote lecture:
• Vincent Michael::Constructing Architect: Barry Byrne and Unity Temple—Friday, February 15, 7:30 pm at Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL
• Paul Kruty::Marion Mahony and Frank Lloyd Wright—Saturday, March 1, 7:30 pm at Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL
• Sarah Susanka::Not So Big—Wednesday, March 12, 7:00 pm at Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL
• Jeanne Gang::Recent Work—Friday, March 28, 7:30 pm at Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL
• Unconventional Creativity::The Suburban—Saturday, April 5, a visit to The Suburban exhibition space in Oak Park, IL (limited to 20 participants)

• Chicago City Hall's Green Roof::Close To Nature—Thursday, May 29, 2:00 pm meet at City Hall in Downtown Chicago, IL (limited to 20 participants)
Quite a remarkable list of speakers and events! The flyer also notes that the Break::the::Box series is supported by a grant from the MacArthur Fund for Arts and Culture at the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation and is sponsored by the John Toomey Gallery. I for one appreciate this generosity and look forward to personally attending as many of the events as possible. The PrairieMod Squad will also keep you posted on more information regarding these events and lecture wrap-ups for our readers who couldn't make it. See you there!
