We recently learned that the famous designer, Ettore Sotsass, passed away this last Monday at age 90. Mr. Sottsass was a founder and leading figure of the "Memphis Group," who designed colorful and ironic pieces that were seen as characteristic examples of Post-modernism. He is especially known for his playfully red typewriter design for Olivetti (released appropriately enough on Valentine's Day in 1969). Follow the link to read more about this colorfully eccentric designer and his impact on modern design.
