Just a reminder that the next Break::the::Box event will be happening this Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 pm at Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple in Oak Park, IL.
Paul Kruty, Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will be giving a lecture titled "Marion Mahony and Frank Lloyd Wright." Professor Kruty has written extensively on Wright, Mahony and Walter Burley Griffin. He is also the co-author of the recently published Marion Mahony and Millikin Place, which he'll be signing copies of after the lecture.
As described on Unity Temple Restoration Foundation's website, the lecture will explore:
Marion Mahony, America's first licensed woman architect, who worked for Wright for fifteen years, creating the exquisite drawings that made him famous, enriching his architecture and producing a body of work all her own.
It promises to be a really interesting discussion of one of the most pivotal people in Wright's Prairie School career. To check out the full Break::the::Box line-up, follow the link. See you there!
