While looking for a hanging lamp I found this bent wood lamp at Sprout Home. I love the shape and the fact it is made from Plantation Pine wood that is grown exclusively for harvesting.
More Info:
Hennig Dyes, 70 years old, is a Costa Rican of German descent. He began designing and building wooden lamps as a hobby and has been in business for over 20 years. His concepts are based on designs he originally saw in Norway. The lamps are made of Plantation Pine, a wood that is grown exclusively for the purpose of harvest at 8000 feet in the Costa Rican Highlands.
[The orange glow that appears in the picture is just a reflection of the light on the wood. There is no colored, interior orb. The plantation pine is plain (not painted in any way) and is placed in alternating strips in an inner and outer layer. The gaps between the layers allows light to glow through.]
