I just found out about a new blog called Ampersand and realized I never gave much thought to the character. The ampersand has saved me many times in my design career. I can't tell you how much it has come in handy when space is tight and it's the difference between a three character word and a one character word.
Now that I'm aware of it, I love it and know I couldn't live without it. I guess the Ampersand blog has accomplished its stated mission:
This blog is an attempt to give this humble character the respect it deserves.
