"Every family deserves to live in a home designed by an architect."
This quote inspires the people at BSB Design to create their low-cost Abōd® housing solution. But is this the low cost housing solution we've been searching for?
Based around the form of a Catenary Arch, these easy to assemble,
customizable, 10' x 12' modular dwellings are meant to give people who
could never afford a roof over their heads the chance to own their own
home-sweet-home.
It's a noble idea and one that has confounded architects throughout the ages. Frank Lloyd Wright tried throughout his career to design homes that dealt with the challenge of cost. The most difficult part is finding a warm and humanized design solution that won't sacrifice the low-cost imperative. Does the Abōd® house answer this problem? I'd be interested to hear what you think.
