I should point out that while I love the Grammar of Ornament (I have three copies in various sizes from portable to boat anchor!) I only pulled the images from the UWISC digital archive that directly related to tessellation patterns, so the above selection is only a small part of the overall beauty that is the Grammar of Ornament.
I do love this book - it's fantastic inspiration for all sorts of things, and it has influenced architects and designers for over 150 years now. I think the fact that it carries such weight and influence is really a wonderful thing about books, and goes to show that in some ways a good book can live forever.
