For all you type geeks who are fans of the hip AMC show "Mad Men," here's a blog bemoaning the unauthenticity of the use of Arial, introduced in the 1980's, as the font in the closing credits.

The show has been lauded not only for it's outstanding writing and acting, but also for the attention to detail in its 1960's sets, props and costumes (and even the period font in the opening credits). Given the comments that follow the entry, apparently a lot of folks pay very close attention to every aspect of the show. Feel free to chime in. . .

Do the same people bemoan the use of non-period Amy Winehouse for the show's promos, or the use of The Decemberists during the opening sequence of this week's episode?
I despise Arial nearly as much as I do Mistral, Papyrus and Comic Sans, but it's not an anachronism if it's not actually taking place within the show's world.
