This amazingly well-researched book is filled with really detailed information about this little known, under-studied and under-appreciated architect who had a significant role in expanding the influence of Prairie School ideals. There are several houses I recognized in the the book that I've seen in my travels around Chicago that I now know we're done by Van Bergen. The immense number of photographs that accompany the book add to the experience of reading the book and help put the descriptions into context.
In short, this is THE book on John Van Bergen and would be a fantastic addition to anyone's PriarieMod library. I highly recommend it.
