Shutters on Arts and Crafts (or Prairie) style houses are a stylistic absurdity! And with casement windows, a funtional absurdity.

I would tend to agree, which is why I wouldn't of thought of using the tiles that way...

Eric, you shouldn't give in so easily. You were right to begin with. Just because our shutters are inspired by Arts & Crafts design doesn't mean they must be used on an Arts & Crafts house. As your description points out, lots of people with ranch and other architectural styles would like to add an Arts & Crafts feel. Incidentally, if Marty hates our arts and crafts shutters, he's really going to hate our new mission style shutters (see http://www.shutterstile.com/mission_style.htm).
