No, it's not something out of a sci-fi movie, this is the real deal: LiTraCon's patened light-transmitting concrete! Filled with optical fibers that run from one end of a poured piece of
concrete to the other, these prefabricated blocks and panels
effectively transmit light from one side to the other. Pretty amazing! Read more about it here.

This may be the coolest thing I have ever seen. I am just imagining a Mid-Century style home in the woods made of this and Stone work with a nice deep wood tone to soften the interior. Wow! That's cool.
