Monday night, a couple of PrairieMod Squad members made the short trip to Racine, Wisconsin to hear photographer and author, Mark Hertzberg deliver a lecture to the organization, Preservation Racine, on the S.C. Johnson Wax Company Research Tower. Read more after the jump...
The Tower has been closed for some time, but Mark had the rare opportunity to tour and photograph the interior in 2007. His presentation featured several fantastic images from that visit, as well as recent exteriors and aerial shots, tons of great archival photos of the building as it was being built and the image above from this morning!
It was an amazing glimpse into a Wright-space not accessible to the public. Mark also mentioned two things as part of his presentation to look for in the near future: A new book that he's working on all about the Research Tower and the opportunity of seeing Racine's architectural treasures this summer during Wright in Wisconsin's annual Wright and Like tour. See you there!Image copyright Mark Hertzberg
