Here's a link to a rather cynical article/"A Single Man" movie review on how Modern architecture has collectively let us all down by not delivering on its redemptive qualities. The writer/architect takes a Debbie Downer-eye's view of John Lautner's work and its attempt to bring people closer to living with Nature.
