The clock is ticking down on the future of Bertrand Goldberg's Prentice Women's Hospital. Northwestern University is planning on demolishing the Modern structure, but Landmarks Illinois has enlisted a team of architects to imagine three possible futures for the striking cloverleaf-shaped tower: research laboratory, medical office and student housing.
The odds are not looking so good for this important building, and it is shameful that Chicago is even considering tearing down such an iconic and important part of the city's architectural heritage.
