We've reported recently on the efforts by Taliesin-trained architect, John U. Ottenheimer, to raise awareness and funds needed to fix the roof at the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Wauwatosa, WI. Many readers may not be familiar with the church, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to post some photos of how unique this building is. It's a stunning building, to say the least. One last image to share is one from the PrairieMod archive. The photo below shows workmen pouring concrete on the dome roof of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in October 1960, about a year and a half after Wright's passing.

Those stained glass windows are horrid and the new doors are monstrosities. The original carved wood doors sere so beautiful. Why has this congregation chosen to desecrate one of Wright's great final works?
