Now this is big Frank Lloyd Wright For Sale news: The iconic V.C. Morris Gift Shop (1948) located at 140 Maiden Lane in downtown San Francisco has been listed for sale on the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy's "Wright on the Market" webpage. This very important architectural work seems imposing and spare from the outside, but the stark brick facade hides a magic interior that has often been likened to a compact prototype for the same ramp ideas Wright used later in his Guggenheim Museum.
No word why the current tenant is leaving and there's no purchase price listed. But being so architecturally important and in a posh part of San Francisco, one can only imagine the number of zeros involved. Let's hope that a preservation-minded new owner will take special care of this stunning gem. See the listing and more photos here.

Does this building have an interior and exterior easement? ... or do we just sit and wait until the new owner guts the interior?
