The Guggenheim Museum and Fine Paints of Europe, Inc. announced the introduction of two new paint palettes in the "Guggenheim Color" collection, suitable for residential and commercial use in October 2011.
"Guggenheim Color: The Classical Colors," is a set of 150 wall colors inspired by art in the Guggenheim's permanent collection, while "Guggenheim Color: The Gallery Colors," contains 50 hues favored by past museum curators, artists, and designers-including Frank Lloyd Wright.

We came across an interesting find while cruising the ad papers yesterday: Target has teamed with the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum in Two Rivers, WI to create a line of apparel featuring type images from the museum’s Globe Printing Plate collection. Seems Target's designers were smitten with Hamilton after watching the Typeface documentary and that started the path towards this product partnership. Find out details here.

The DIY food movement has certainly gained momentum in recent years, from beekeeping to home brews. Here's a modern way to put fresh, homegrown eggs on your table: the nogg chicken coop. Its name and shape pay homage to the chicken egg and with all the recent coverage in several design blogs (design*sponge, new house design and contemporist, to name a few), it's only a matter of time before a US-based store carries this British beauty. One of the best architecture-related DVDs I've ever gotten was "Lost Buildings," a special collaboration between NPR's "This American Life" and illustrator Chris Ware.
It tells the fascinating and touching story of Tim Samuelson (now the Cultural Historian for the City of Chicago), his passion for Louis Sullivan's architecture and his friendship with preservationist/photographer Richard Nickel.
The DVD comes packaged inside a stunning 100-page book, designed by Chris Ware, and filled with photos of the Louis Sullivan buildings mentioned in the story. Do yourself a favor and get a copy here.
